Released as a new colorway in the first retro run of the Air Jordan 8 in 2003, the “Chrome” colorway is best known for its on-court appearance by Kobe Bryant during the 2003 NBA playoffs when he threw down one of the most vicious dunks of all time. The Air Jordan 8 “Chrome” was retroed in 2015 as part of Nike”s Holiday 2015 collection that included two other Air Jordan 8 colorways the OG “Aqua” and “Three Times A Charm”. The Air Jordan 8 “Chrome” features an all-black upper in smooth and perforated nubuck, and gets it “chrome” name due to the chrome detailing on the buckle of the strap.
